Minister Ambrose congratulates the Women in Leadership Foundation for encouraging women in business Français
CALGARY, Oct. 25, 2012 /CNW/ - The Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister for Status of Women, today congratulated the Women in Leadership Foundation for its national Spotlight Speaker series under this year's theme, "Mentorship: The Best Advice I Ever Got." The series showcases women as role models in business and fosters the expansion of key networks.
"Women are a vital part of our country's economy, representing about half of Canada's workforce, and are consistently proving their value in the management ranks of businesses large and small," said Minister Ambrose. "Having more women in leadership and decision-making roles in every sector of society helps us realize a brighter future for all and how women can have a hand in creating it."
The Women in Leadership Foundation has been hosting the Spotlight Speaker series for seven years in Vancouver and Toronto and recently expanded to Montreal and Calgary. The Calgary event is being held on October 25 and features women in energy. Nancy Forster, Senior Vice President of Human and Corporate Resources from Husky Energy will be the guest speaker. Ms. Forster is an experienced human resources practitioner with extensive oil and gas experience, both domestically and internationally.
