Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter receives approval from Transport Canada
OTTAWA, Dec. 21, 2016 /CNW/ - The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, today announced that Transport Canada has awarded certification to the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter.
This certification represents the approval of the design, airworthiness limitations, and operating conditions of the five-passenger lightweight aircraft designed and manufactured by Bell Helicopter Textron Canada Ltd. in Mirabel, Quebec. Bell Helicopter is now preparing to start deliveries of the Bell 505 helicopter to customers worldwide.
The Bell 505 will be used to conduct corporate, utility and training operations in Canada and around the world.
This project was a significant undertaking and saw strong collaboration between Transport Canada and Bell Helicopter officials. This is another example of a continued commitment of the department to work with the aerospace industry to foster growth and innovation.

- Transport Canada supervised and performed more than 575 hours of ground and flight testing during the certification process.
- The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter incorporates proven dynamic components and advanced aerodynamic design. It is the first of its class to feature a fully integrated glass flight deck and avionic suite which provides enhanced safety and mission capabilities.
