Guergis, Minister of State (Status of Women), is pleased to promote fundraising for breast cancer research by launching a walk around Parliament Hill by Parliamentarians. "In
Ottawa
, on Parliament Hill, we are not immune. Many have had someone close to them battle breast cancer; some have battled it themselves," said Minister of State Guergis. "My colleagues and many who work on the Hill are here today to join with tens of thousands of Canadians who walk, run and roll for the cure. Just by being here, putting one foot in front of the other to promote fundraising for breast cancer research, we are making a difference."
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada's largest single-day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, and education and awareness programs.
