Minister of Transportation and Ontario Good Roads Association to sign formal
agreement

TORONTO, Feb. 21 /CNW/ - The Minister of Transportation, the Honourable Kathleen Wynne and representatives from the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) will formally sign an agreement tomorrow permitting Ontario municipalities to advance municipal asset management through the use and adoption of OGRA's Municipal DataWorks (MDW) application.

The signing will take place at 1:15 PM in the Toronto Room during the 2010 ROMA/OGRA Combined Conference at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

The funding, provided by the Government of Ontario, will give Ontario municipalities the tools needed to inventory their assets, track life cycle events, monitor condition and develop asset management plans, which will lead to sustainable infrastructure. This investment will also provide critical information on the state of municipal infrastructure that will allow the Province to assess municipal on which to base future funding programs.

The mandate of the Ontario Good Roads Association is to represent the infrastructure interests of municipalities through advocacy, consultation, training and the delivery of identified services.
