Minister of Veterans Affairs announces Government of Canada support for Canada Remembers Our Heroes "Tribute to Veterans" air show

SASKATOON, July 11, 2015 /CNW/ - Kelly Block, Member of Parliament for Saskatoon–Rosetown–Biggar, on behalf of the Honourable Erin O'Toole, Minister of Veterans Affairs, today announced Government of Canada funding for the Canada Remembers Our Heroes "Tribute to Veterans" air show, hosted by the 602 Lynx Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Association.

The air show will take place July 11-12, 2015, in Saskatoon. In addition to the main air show, a smaller event took place at Sherbrooke Veterans Village, on July 10, 2015, to pay special tribute to local military Veterans and their families.

• The 602 Lynx Wing (RCAF) Association is receiving $7,500 through Veterans Affairs Canada's Community Engagement Partnership Fund to assist with costs of organizing the air show.
• In addition to the main air show, the event will include opening ceremonies, a parade of Armed Forces Veterans, a marching band, a traditional remembrance service and a flypast.
