Minister responsible for Status of Women lends her support to Habitat for Humanity GTA's Women Build Campaign
Habitat for Humanity GTA hosts its fifth Women Build event, empowering 1,000 women volunteers to help build safe, decent homes for 33 hardworking families.
TORONTO, Sept. 19, 2014 /CNW/ - On Friday September 19, MP and Minister responsible for Status of Women, the Honourable Dr. Kellie Leitch and colleagues from Toronto St-Paul's Conservative Association will join over 100 women volunteers at 960 Brimley Road helping to build safe, decent home for 33 hardworking families at Habitat for Humanity GTA's Women Build campaign. This 12 day event takes place at two build locations with an ambitious goal of raising $1 million for the charity. The first wave began September 15 ending September 19 at 960 Brimley Road, in Scarborough where 15 semi-detached homes will be built for Habitat GTA partner families. The second wave continues September 23-27 at 8600 Torbram Road South, in Brampton which ultimately will be an 18-home development.
