"Throughout our history, the Royal Canadian Air Force has courageously answered the call of duty to defend our shared values, no matter the danger or difficulty," said Minister Blaney. "Our Government is honouring the sacrifices and achievements of the airmen and airwomen who played and continue to play such a vital role in times of war, armed conflict and peace."
"As an Islander, I have a true appreciation for the importance and history of the aerospace industry in Prince Edward Island and of Islanders' contributions to Canada's military efforts over the years," said Minister Shea. "I applaud the Air Cadet League of Prince Edward Island for organizing today's event and reminding us of the bravery and legacy of Canadian airmen and airwomen."
