Minnesota State Lottery's Big Cash Crossword Named as a Finalist for NASPL's Best New Instant Game Award
WINNIPEG, Sept. 24, 2013 /CNW/ - Pollard Banknote Limited (TSX: PBL) ("Pollard Banknote") is pleased to congratulate the Minnesota State Lottery ("Minnesota Lottery") on the outstanding accomplishment of having its Big Cash Crossword ticket named as a finalist for Best New Instant Game by the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries ("NASPL"). Launched in December 2012, Big Cash Crossword is a supersized game that measures an extraordinary 7.8" x 8" and features six separate crossword puzzle grids to give players more chances to win big cash.
The NASPL Awards recognize and celebrate some of the most outstanding achievements during the past year in the North American lottery industry. The winner of Best New Instant Game, chosen from 13 entries, will be announced at NASPL's annual conference held in Providence, Rhode Island. The conference, which takes place October 1 to 4, 2013, will focus on new technologies and industry innovations. Award entries are judged by a team of Senior Managers representing the host lottery based on various criteria, including game innovations, cost/benefit analysis results, strategic analysis and insight, visual appeal, and ease of play.
"Pollard Banknote is thrilled to see the well-deserving Minnesota Lottery recognized within the industry for their unique and innovative instant game concepts," says Doug Pollard, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Pollard Banknote. "Big Cash Crossword is a standout product—not only because of its exceptional size, but also its ability to further engage players through an interactive cross-promotional play experience."
The Minnesota Lottery has raised over $2.2 billion for the State, providing support services for elementary and high school education, public safety, health care, and aid to local governments. The balance of the Lottery's revenue is directed to environmental causes, natural resources, and game and fish funds.
