QUÉBEC CITY,
Dec. 18
/CNW Telbec/ - The Québec Winter Carnival, in association with Loto-Québec, teamed up with Netrokid and Frima to launch a virtual version of the Carnival's iconic trumpet for the iPhone and iPod Touch last week to internationally promote both the 56th edition of the Carnival and the fact that the Carnival is spreading its winter fun to new technologies. In less than one week after the launch of the app on iTunes, "Trompette" was downloaded from the Apple app store by more than 7500 iPhone and iPod Touch owners in 57 countries.
"We're excited about the wide-spread global visibility that "Trompette" has given the
Quebec
Winter Carnival in such a short period of time", said
David Weiser
, founder of Netrokid, "We hope iPhone and iPod Touch casual gamers around the word will also enjoy "Parade" when we launch it in January, 2010. It's an innovative and addictive stand-alone game, and we're extremely proud of the fact that it puts the Carnival and
Quebec
City in the spotlight in such an entertaining manner."
"Parade" is an arcade/puzzle casual game for the iPhone and iPod that allows players to create their very own Carnival Parade by collecting and connecting as many moving floats as possible without losing control. The game was developed by Netrokid and Frima and will be available to the public in
January 2010
on Apple's app store. A part of the profits will be donated to Enfants Soleil. Players can register their email at parade.netrokid.com to be notified when the game will be launched.
