Mitec announces first order for its broadcast product line from major North
American satellite radio services provider

MONTREAL, July 20 /CNW Telbec/ - Mitec Telecom Inc. ("Mitec") (TSX: MTM), a leading designer and manufacturer of mobile wireless, fixed wireless, broadcast and satellite components announced today it has received initial orders from a leading provider of satellite radio services in North America for a series of trials in their mobile broadcast network.

Mitec was chosen to supply components which resolve interference issues based on the company's demonstrated track record of providing compact, yet very high performance filters for various wireless applications and has extensive design experience in this area. Upon successful completion of these trials, Mitec expects to receive a series of higher volume, follow-on orders early in 2011, which will be manufactured in the company's Suzhou, China facility.

"This order is significant for Mitec since we were in a very competitive situation with a number of other companies who were also bidding for this trial, however we were able to succeed because we have been producing these solutions in high volume for several years. Trials are involved since this is a new market application", commented Dan Piergentili, Mitec's President and CEO.

Mitec has developed a substantial product line in the mobile broadcast area and has been qualified and selected as a preferred vendor by several major providers in this area. Although the technology behind these solutions has been a part of Mitec's product portfolio over the past several years, the global economic crisis delayed any significant impact in sales in the mobile broadcast area.
