MITEC RECEIVES ORDER FOR TOWER MOUNTED BOOSTER (TMB)

MONTREAL, Aug. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - Mitec Telecom Inc. ("Mitec") (TSX: MTM), a leading designer and manufacturer of mobile wireless, fixed wireless, broadcast and satellite components, announced today it has received an order for its high power, tower mounted boosters ("TMB"). TMBs, which are part of Mitec's Coverage Solution product line and are available in both multi and single carrier format, are used both in new and ongoing network rollouts.

Coverage Solutions are a core product line for Mitec as it continues to offer its growing customer base products that support mobile handheld devices such as iPhones and Blackberries in addition to cellular handsets, in both rural and urban areas. TMBs, offering simplified configuration and convenient installation options to the telecom customer as well as a variety of power, monitoring and control options, boost the radio signal in both directions, increasing the coverage area of sites and reducing the number of required cell sites.

TMB technology compensates for traditional challenges relating to combining and cable losses between the base station and antenna and can be used in areas where typical deployment of additional sites is not viable, such as less travelled highways and coastlines and rural areas where the population is widespread, as a low cost and effective alternative, since installing new base stations to resolve these issues may not be economically or technically possible.
