Mobilicity announces industry's first $0 phones without a contract
New wireless carrier introduces promotions designed to
reward customers with thousands of dollars in savings
TORONTO, Oct 5 /CNW/ - Mobilicity today introduced a host of new customer-friendly offerings for October, including the industry's first no-contract $0 phones and annual customer appreciation credits of up to $180.
The new carrier's $0 phone announcement is an industry-first. Consumers will receive a $100 credit with the purchase of any handset and new unlimited talk text or data plan activation through the month of October. The company features four sub-$100 handsets in its growing lineup, including the HTC Snap smartphone, now priced at $99.99.
"In the old days, if consumers wanted $0 phones, they were forced into signing long-term contracts," said Vice President, Marketing Sara Moore. "Today, Mobilicity gives Canadians the freedom to choose without any of the regrets or penalties associated with breaking contracts."
Customer appreciation credits worth thousands of dollars
The company underscored its focus on customer loyalty by providing unlimited talk and text customers with My WalletTM credits of up to $180 a year. Unlike other carrier promotions, these annual customer appreciation credits will recur for the lifetime of the customer's Mobilicity account - bringing their total value into the thousands of dollars over the long-term.
"We want to reward our customers for choosing and staying with us," said Moore. "That's why when Mobilicity customers take advantage of a Mobilicity promotion, we reward them for life."
$20 unlimited data add-on
For those who rely on mobile access to email and the Internet, Mobilicity's data options are simply unrivaled in Canada. Unlimited data can now also be added onto any Mobilicity unlimited talk plan for only $20 a month - making the price for unlimited voice and data $45 a month.
Half-price data stick plan bundle
Mobilicity mobile phone customers can now also get unlimited data connectivity in Mobilicity coverage areas using a netbook or laptop by adding on a data stick plan for only $20 a month - a savings of 50 percent. Its Option 452 data stick is available for $99.99.
Mobilicity offers some of the industry's hottest smartphones for unlimited data usage. Last week, the company introduced the BlackBerry® Curve™ 3G smartphone at an affordable, no-contract price of $299.99. The upcoming availability of the Nexus OneTM by GoogleTM smartphone, a state-of-the art AndroidTM 2.2 device, was also announced.
