Unlimited wireless carrier promotes bill certainty
with FMyBill contest and $75,000 in prizes
TORONTO, Oct. 15 /CNW/ - Halloween is one thing, but getting spooked by opening a mobile phone bill loaded with extra charges is a scary tradition that Canadians don't need, according to Mobilicity, Canada's new unlimited mobile operator that guarantees bill certainty.
Mobilicity today announced FMyBill, a let-it-all-out contest where Canadians can tell their scariest mobile phone bill story at Facebook.com/Mobilicity for the chance to win one of 100 BlackBerry® Curve™ 3G smartphones and six months of service on Mobilicity's unlimited $65 plan, which includes unlimited data, unlimited North American talk and unlimited global text, plus the BlackBerry® Internet Service (BIS) add-on. Each prize is valued at $749.99.
"Wireless consumers are afraid to open their bills," said Vice President of Marketing, Sara Moore. "They are frustrated and haunted by the expensive surprises so commonly found inside."
According to a recent report published by the Consumers Council of Canada, "wireless bills are often higher - frequently much higher - than customers expect. Customer disputes are common. Many of the disputes involve 'extra' fees incurred when customers unknowingly exceed the allotments set out in their plans."
The independent, not-for-profit organization also found that of the 60 percent of wireless customers who said they inspected their monthly service bills, 45 percent found up to three billing errors.
With Mobilicity's industry-leading unlimited plans and its unique My Wallet™ personal depository system for pay-per-use offerings like roaming, downloads and global long-distance, there's no risk of incurring extra, hidden charges.
"At Mobilicity, we're committed to ensuring mobile phone bill nightmares become a thing of the past with 100 percent bill certainty and a quality wireless experience," Moore added.
