Key local stakeholders have long been asking for concrete, sustainable measures to improve community and recreational infrastructure. The Government of Canada is proud to support projects like the one by the City of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, which contribute to the strength and vitality of all regions of the country.
Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, Francis Scarpaleggia, Member of Parliament for Lac-Saint-Louis, announced that the City of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue has been granted $232,058 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, to improve the Harpell Centre.
As part of the Canada 150 celebrations, under the theme "A clean growth economy," the project involves renovating the building and refurbishing the terrace. The scope of the work includes repairing the roof and brick cladding, improving the insulation in the exterior walls, installing new doors and windows, replacing the terrace's paving stones and enhancing the landscaping. Work inside the building involves replacing the floors and ceiling panels, repairing the plumbing, installing a partition and interior doors and painting.
