TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2014 /CNW/ - S&P Dow Jones Indices today announces changes to the rebalance schedule for the S&P/TSX Canadian Dividend Aristocrats Index. The index will now undergo its major rebalance, which include index constituent membership and weight adjustments, annually after the close of trading on the last business day of January. Previously, the index underwent its major rebalances after the close of trading on the third Friday of December.
The minor rebalancing of the index, which includes constituent weight adjustments and continued eligibility screenings, will become effective after the close of trading on the last business days of April, July, and October.
The reference date for fundamental data used in component selection (e.g. indicated annual dividend, dividends per share, dividend history), float-adjusted market capitalization and liquidity, and pricing used to calculate dividend yields will be the last business day of the preceding month for all rebalances.
The rebalance results will continue to be announced in the standard *.SPA and *.PRO UFF files five business days prior to the rebalance effective date. For the January 2015 rebalance, proforma files will be sent to clients after the close of trading on Friday, January 23, 2015 and updated daily through Thursday, January 29, 2015. The rebalance changes will become effective after the close of trading on Friday, January 30, 2015.
