TORONTO, June 22, 2020 /CNW/ - In the countdown to Canada Day 2020, Molson Canadian suggests it's time to come together and celebrate the nation we call home, this year more than ever – and perhaps over some beers founded right here? Interestingly, unlike many countries in the world who choose their own beer first, the #1 selling brand of beer in Canada wasn't founded in Canada. That's why in the lead up to Canada Day, Molson is on a mission to celebrate Canadian beer. Not just Molson Canadian, but all Canadian beer from this great land. Inviting fellow brewers to join them, Molson Canadian will transform their website and social channels into a spotlight to celebrate Canadian-founded beer brands, inspiring Canadians to #MakeItCanadian on their next beer run.
"Since 1786, seven generations of our family have been proudly brewing beer right here in Canada. But this isn't about us or our story. This is about something bigger. It's about pride in Canadian beer," said Andrew Molson. "With Canada Day around the corner, there's no better time to celebrate our country while bringing Canadian people, communities, and brewers together over something we can all love: our beer."
In select cities where it is possible to do so, just in time for Canada Day, Molson will extend the ultimate Canadian gesture by opening up its case to other brands for the first time to create the most Canadian Case of beer ever. Available for sale in limited quantities, this Canadian Case will be a variety pack featuring Canadian-founded brews, standing together, label to label, in celebration of our country's great beer.
"Molson has a proud history of bringing people together, no matter where in the country they call home," said Joy Ghosh, Marketing Director for the Molson family of brands. "We will champion fellow Canadian beer brands founded in this great nation, to recall the pride for our brews and inspire Canadians to #MakeitCanadian on their next beer run." adds Ghosh.
As Canada's oldest brewery, Molson wants to tie back to the company's values of building and nurturing communities inspired by their founder, John Molson. So, they will be donating $5 for every special-edition case printed (up to $25,000) to a local charity supporting people and communities in need of a helping-hand in this particularly difficult year of 2020.
What would be in your ultimate Canadian Case of beer? Build your own virtual version online at www.TheCanadianCase.ca or learn where you can buy the Canadian Case. Molson wants to hear from you! Tag @Molson_Canadian on Twitter or @MolsonCanadian on Instagram to tell them if there is a particular Canadian-founded beer brand you think should be part of the campaign.
