MONCTON, NB, Feb. 5, 2014 /CNW/ - Natasha McLaughlin-Chaisson, of Moncton's Sportmed Physiotherapy, has joined the elite league of International Olympic Committee (IOC) accredited Sports and Performance Nutritionists, of which there are only 301 worldwide.
Natasha, a Registered Dietitian, tackled the two-year postgraduate program, based out of the IOC's Lausanne, Switzerland headquarters, so she could offer athletes the most current sports nutritional information available.
"I've always admired the endless effort, drive and dedication athletes put into their sport. I knew that with the right training I could help stack the odds in an athlete's favour. Correct hydration, performance nutrition, and proper supplement practices help improve speed, strength and power output while reducing limiting factors like cramping, muscle fatigue and headaches. It can be the difference between winning and losing."
Natasha is becoming renown with her clients for her intense passion. She has been seen on the field with football players and in the hills with the cyclists. "I love to get right in there with them" she said, with a grin. "It works great because I'm as driven as they are!"
Serge Arsenault, owner of Sportmed Physiotherapy says: "Natasha is a valuable member of Sportmed's team. While we work on improving our client's strength, mobility, and agility, Natasha's performance nutrition fuels their recovery and has a profound effect on their performance. It's long term stuff and a win/win for everyone!"
While her clients include NHL Hockey players, the Canadian National Track Cycling Team, Football Canada, FIFA, Canadian Sport Center and Canadian Interuniversity Sports, Natasha welcomes athletes of all ages, from all sports, from the recreational to the elite.
"It's never too early to learn the difference between general healthy eating and eating for performance. Everyone deserves the opportunity to be everything they can be. Today's technology & travel options allow me to work with athletes regardless of where they live, train or competes."
