MONEY.CA - Canadian MONEY Magazine continues print circulation
TORONTO, July 25, 2019 /CNW/ - Money Magazine in the U.S. has altogether ceased printing the iconic publication. Money was a monthly personal finance magazine, published by Meredith Corporation, that printed its last issue in June 2019. Its website, Money.com, continues. Its first issue was published in October 1972 by Time Inc.
Many magazines in fact have stopped print and for many different reasons.
There have been many changes in the print industry over the last 10 years that have adversely affected sales and revenue in this once flourishing area. The price of printing, the cost of content, the lack of readership and therefore the lost interest of advertisers. As noted, many companies and famous publications have closed with most blaming the advent of Internet growth. The good news is that change must occur, and publications will come and go.
MONEY.CA and The Canadian version of Money Magazine is in the cat bird's seat as a valuable title that warrants the interest and attention of Canadians in general. And then the mistakes others have made by not adjusting costs and charges is evident. Not combining print with online fast enough could be another cause in the downturn of many print companies.
MONEY® has adapted to print and carefully selected its price point for retail sales per magazine and the value proposition has been adjusted to bring back advertisers with a lower and more reasonable price point. With more and more magazines closing in general and most in the realm of financial services; we have a realistic investment marketplace and we are ripe for renewal.
All these changes, price factors and market shifts have made for a better marketplace for MONEY® as our subject matter alone deems that we ought to be in business regardless of economic conditions Canadians always want to know about this precious monetary commodity.
The MONEY Vertical which includes online, print and media components is ready and able to be the mainstay personal finance magazine that defeats the odds and stands alone. Rogers has closed their flagship publications that included Canadian Business, Profit and MoneySense.
Now there is more room for the one and only MONEY Magazine to not just survive but thrive.
