Money Mentors celebrates 15 years of credit counselling in Alberta
CALGARY, March 20, 2012 /CNW/ - 2012 marks a significant milestone for Money Mentors as the not-for-profit credit counselling agency celebrates 15 years of Albertans helping Albertans manage their debts.
On March 21st, 2012, Money Mentors celebrates its first 15 years at its Annual General Meeting with special guest speaker Renee Hall talking about how Money Mentors helped her overcome debts and become a better money manager.
"We're honoured that so many Albertans continue to choose Money Mentors for help when debts become unmanageable. Credit can be a wonderful financial tool; however it's also a common cause of financial stress for many consumers," says Tracy Watson, spokesperson for Money Mentors. "It's important for consumers to know they have options when it comes to repaying debt."
Since opening its doors in Calgary and Edmonton as Credit Counselling Services of Alberta in 1997, Money Mentors has grown to six locations throughout the province - including Red Deer, Lethbridge, Grande Prairie and Medicine Hat - and has helped over a quarter million Albertans understand their options when it comes to personal debt concerns.
As the exclusive provider of the Orderly Payment of Debts program on behalf of the Government of Alberta, Money Mentors has enabled clients to repay more than $125 million back to their creditors.
