CALGARY and EDMONTON, Nov. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - Albertans will have the opportunity to be inspired and motivated personally and financially this November in celebration of Financial Literacy Month.
"We had such success in bringing awareness to financial literacy to Albertans last year that we just had to take part once again," says Jim Thorne, Executive Director of Money Mentors, an Alberta-based not-for-profit debt and credit counselling agency. "Alberta has so much to offer and financial literacy is an important part of ensuring Albertans are able to maximize their opportunities and be prepared for possible setbacks."
Led by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC), Financial Literacy Month is held each November to highlight the importance of financial literacy and help Canadians of all ages enhance their financial know-how.
Money Mentors will offer the following free events, courses and tools to all Albertans throughout November:
