MONTREAL, July 21, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The board of directors of BNP Paribas is pleased to announce the appointment of Monique Vialatou as president and chief executive officer of BNP Paribas in Canada. Monique Vialatou has worked for the BNP Paribas Group for over 25 years, and has been in charge of the bank's operations in Thailand since 2008.

During her career at BNP Paribas, Monique Vialatou has held various positions in the retail banking as well as in the corporate and investment banking divisions, including the role of senior relationship manager on several of the group's corporate coverage teams in France and the United States.
Anne Marie Verstraeten, who has headed Canadian operations since 2010, has been appointed head of BNP Paribas in the Netherlands.
