CALGARY, Aug. 2, 2012 /CNW/ - Montana Exploration Corp. (the "Company") reminds holders of its common shares, series A convertible first preferred shares, series B convertible first preferred shares and series C convertible first preferred shares of the annual and special meeting (the "Meeting") to be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.  At the request of the TSX Venture Exchange, in respect of the approval of the amendment (the "Amendment") to the terms of the series A convertible first preferred shares, series B convertible first preferred shares and series C convertible first preferred shares (collectively, the "Preferred Shares"), shareholder approval will also be sought on a disinterested basis. Accordingly, in respect of the approval of the Amendment, in addition to the approvals detailed in the information circular of the Company relating to the Meeting, the class vote of the Preferred Shares shall be conducted excluding the Preferred Shares beneficially owned or controlled by Mr. James Collins, a director and controlling shareholder of the Company.  The Company has been advised by Mr. Collins that he owns or controls either personally or through his holding company ANG Partners, Ltd. approximately 10,335,700 Common Shares or 49.2% of the outstanding Common Shares, 71,863,720 Series A Convertible First Preferred Shares or 34.3% of the outstanding Series A Convertible First Preferred Shares and 1,250,000 Series C First Preferred Shares or 100% of the Series C Convertible First Preferred Shares.
