Montreal Canadiens fans score with Bell Player of the Game contest
MONTREAL, April 15 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell today announced a Bell Player of the Game contest that offers Montreal Canadiens fans living in Québec the chance to vote for their favourite Habs player during the team's 2010 Stanley Cup(R) Playoffs run - and a chance to win tickets to see the team in action.
"As long time partners and now minority owners of the Montreal Canadiens, Bell is very excited to enhance the fan experience and cheer on the team in its quest for the Stanley Cup with the Bell Player of the Game contest," said Rick Seifeddine, Bell's Senior Vice President of Brand. "This unique contest is part of Bell's commitment to bring Habs action to fans in Québec and across Canada in more ways than anyone else - on Bell TV in High Definition, on Bell Internet and even on Bell Mobility wireless phones."
The Bell Player of the Game contest voting period is open throughout each Montreal Canadiens 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoff game, from the beginning of the game until 60 minutes after the game concludes. Voting is simple and can be done in two ways:
- By text message: Bell Mobility, Virgin Mobile, PC Mobile or Solo Mobile customers can send a text with the word "VOTING" to 2323. A message will be sent to the client in response containing instructions on how to submit their vote. Clients can then submit votes by sending the number of the player they believe deserves the title of Bell Player of the Game to 2323. A 15 cent charge applies for each text vote. - Online: Fans can visit www.bell.ca/canadiens to select the player of their choice then follow the online instructions to submit their entry. There is no cost to enter online and no purchase is necessary.
Each vote enters the fan in a draw to win a pair of tickets to see the Canadiens' next home game at the Bell Centre in Montréal. Should the Canadiens be eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the winner of that game's draw will get tickets to the first home game of the 2010-2011 season. Valued at $300 per pair, the tickets allow the winner to watch the game from the Club Desjardins section of the Bell Centre where they will enjoy an excellent view of all game action. Hockey fans can enjoy the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs in more ways than ever before with Bell - on Bell TV in stunning High Definition, on the Internet through NHL Centre Ice Online, and with their mobile phones through Bell's exclusive NHL service, which lets clients watch and listen to live games on their smartphones.
Bell is a minority equity owner of the Montreal Canadiens, having joined the Molson family's bid in June 2009 to acquire the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club and the Bell Centre. This initiative further strengthened Bell's long-standing relationship with the storied hockey franchise and its ability to leverage enhanced marketing opportunities and preferred access to Canadiens content for Bell customers.
