MONTRÉAL, April 22, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Rendez-vous Canada will take place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal from April 24 to 27, 2016. The 40th edition of this business-to-business marketplace will be attended by more than 500 influential travel buyers from more than 28 countries. They will be meeting with Canadian vendors and exploring the new tourism products and services on offer. The event will include express appointments designed to encourage mutually beneficial connections between Canadian tourism businesses.
In addition to putting Montréal in the spotlight, Rendez-vous Canada is attracting 1,700 delegates to the city, of which 83% are from abroad. They will account for 5,000 room nights in commercial accommodations and inject $5.5 million in tourist dollars into the Montréal economy.
"Rendez-vous Canada is a major event for Montréal, particularly on the eve of 2017. It's a chance for us to show off the creativity and vitality of the city's tourism ecosystem. Of course, it's also the perfect time to discuss the future of the tourism industry. These opportunities are sure to benefit businesses that rely on tourism, which is Canada's fastest-growing industry," said Yves Lalumière, President and CEO of Tourisme Montréal.
Organized in partnership with Tourisme Québec, Destination Canada, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada and Tourisme Montréal, this marketplace showcases and promotes Canadian destinations to distribution networks from North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Rendez-vous Canada is also made possible thanks to support from the Société des célébrations du 375e anniversaire de Montréal.
