MONTREAL, Dec. 30, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The City of Montreal announces that dedicated snow removal crews have now cleared nearly 94% of the snow from Montreal streets and sidewalks. Unless additional significant snowfall is received, snow removal operations should be complete in all boroughs by tomorrow, Tuesday, December 31.
The City of Montreal would like to remind residents that their cooperation is essential to facilitate and accelerate snow removal. Montrealers are therefore asked to:
- Comply with signage at all times and move their vehicle in time to avoid delays in snow removal operations caused when numerous vehicles are improperly parked and must be towed;
- Use park-and-go lots and public transportation whenever possible;
- Remove objects that could damage snow ploughs, and in particular avoid placing garbage cans, bags or bins on snow banks or roads.
Anyone witnessing a situation affecting snow removal can report it by dialling 311.
During snow clearing operations, the City makes 5,700 off-street, overnight parking spaces available to residents free of charge. To find out the park-and-go lot nearest you, dial 311 or go to ville.montreal.qc.ca/snowremoval.
