QUEBEC, Sept. 3, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Canadian Senator and hockey legend, Mr. Jacques Demers, will be the keynote speaker at the second edition of the Montréal Wood Convention that will be held from February 18 to 20, 2014 at Hotel Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth.
The organizing committee, composed of representatives of the Quebec Wood Export Bureau (QWEB), the Québec Forest Industry Council (QFIC) , the Ontario Forest Industries Association (OFIA) and the Maritime Lumber Bureau (MLB), also confirmed other renowned speakers: Mr. Russ Taylor, C.E.O., International Wood Markets Group, Mr. Stéfane Marion, Chief Economist at National Bank of Canada, Mr. Greg Brooks, C.E.O.,. Building Supply Channel Inc., and Guy Cabana, international speaker and well-known author.
Several new features are on the menu of this important wood industry event. Always dedicated to the softwood industry, the 2014 edition opens to new sectors: hardwood lumber, hardwood flooring and engineered wood. Among many other activities, producers and buyers will have the opportunity to meet in a much larger trade show area and connect with overseas wood importers during match-making sessions.
Registration is opening September 3. Businesses and interested people can register and benefit from the early bird fee of $275 before taxes until November 15. After this date, the price of $375 before taxes will apply. Registration is done online from the web site www.montrealwoodconvention.com.
Also new is the second Canadian Wood Pellet Heating Conference to be held February 19 at the same place alongside the Montréal Wood Convention.
