A week full of culture for wee and old!
MONTRÉAL, March 24, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Another fun-filled week of activities is coming up on the official programming of Montréal's 375th anniversary celebrations. Once again, there's something for everyone with events like Langue de Feu, Quartiers improvisés, which is taking place at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and Cultivons nos racines! And history takes a place of pride in this week's new activities.

La langue de feu
With the help of a storyteller, a musician and some props, the street theatre show "La langue de feu" will take audiences back in time to the major events that shaped the city as well as the Peter-McGill neighbourhood. You are warmly invited to take part in this historical tale around a fire with a cup of hot tea and time travel to the city's different iconic eras. In partnership with La tête de Pioche.

Quartiers improvisés
"Improvised Neighbourhoods" are 13 happenings in public places featuring in-house comedians and invited guests from different improvisational troupes in the city. Under the direction of their leader, they will participate in various improv games using the history of the area where the event takes place as a theme. A fun way to learn more about the history of the different neighbourhoods in the borough of Ville-Marie.

Cultivons nos racines ! Cultures et savoir-faire anciens : évolution de l'utilisation des ressources
Discover Native American gardening techniques and leave better equipped to have abundant harvests at the end of summer. You can also take part in a seeding activity and bring home beautiful budding vegetables!

Another Brick in The Wall – The Opera
The Opéra de Montréal presents the world premiere of Another Brick In The Wall – The Opera, based on the legendary work The Wall, by Roger Waters. This blockbuster production brings together eight soloists onstage, including celebrated Québec baritone Étienne Dupuis as well as 48 choral singers and 70 musicians. The creation of this opera for a Montréal stage is particularly significant because Roger Waters first came up with the idea for the project following a concert at Montréal's Olympic Stadium in 1977.

La Cabane à sucre urbaine
This sugaring off season, the Cabane à sucre urbaine invites young and old to try some maple taffy in its old-fashioned mobile barn. To ensure the most sweet tooths possible get to enjoy this gooey goodness, it will be stopping off in several city boroughs. Musicians and storytellers will add to the festive, family-friendly ambiance. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and other treats will also be served. All voluntary contributions will go to the Joy of Eating Better Foundation.

La guirlande du 375e
Creative workshops will be held at the Centre culturel Georges-Vanier as part of "The 375th Garland". Le Carrefour d'éducation populaire de Pointe-Saint-Charles has launched a superb community project to create and decorate a 1400-metre-long garland that will adorn the streets of the Pointe-Saint-Charles neighbourhood. A number of workshops featuring various techniques for painting and printing on canvas will be offered in several borough locations, all in a creative atmosphere where participants can express their artistic talents. The garland will be hung in the neighbourhood at a vernissage during Montreal's 375th anniversary celebrations.
