Moores Thanks Supporters Of 8th Annual Canadian Suit Drive Français
DONATIONS TO DATE EXCEED 435,000 ITEMS OF CLOTHING AIMED AT HELPING UNEMPLOYED CANADIANS
TORONTO, Sept. 15, 2017 /CNW/ -- Moores Clothing for Men announced it has collected over 63,000 items of professional clothing for the 8th anniversary of the Canadian Suit Drive. Throughout July, 126 Moores locations across the country collected articles of gently worn men's and women's professional attire that benefit Canadians in need of appropriate interview attire as they seek to regain employment. The program has generated over 435,000 donations since launching in 2010. The company thanks its customers for the generous donations that continue to support the initiative.
Each year, Moores partners with more than 70 local recipient organizations across the country that help disadvantaged individuals regain employment through job readiness programs and workforce assistance. These partners then distribute the collected clothing donations to unemployed men and women in local areas who are in need of proper interview attire. These services help individuals to prepare for their transition back into the workforce through resume-building workshops, interview preparation and employment training programs.
"I am impressed with the number of donations that have been collected this year," said Richard Bull, Vice President of Merchandising of Moores Clothing for Men. "I thank our customers and recipient organizations who continue to make a positive impact in the communities we serve. We look forward to next year and the continued generosity of our supporters."
"The Canadian Suit Drive was a great success for our organization. Thanks to all of the generous donations, we are not only able to suit more men for their interviews and new careers, but we can also build their confidence to help them succeed in work and in life," said Kait Green, Executive Director of Dress Your Best. "We're grateful to see such strong support from our local community, and are honoured to have partnered with Moores for the past eight years."
