More summer flights at YQB - Better access to Europe and sunshine destinations

QUÉBEC CITY, April 2, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) has expanded its selection of summer flights with many new destinations in summer 2015.

More flights to sunshine destinations        
The number of direct flights to sunshine destinations will increase by 25% and reach a new high. Carriers Air Transat and Sunwing will operate up to eight direct flights to Mexico and the Caribbean per week, with five destinations—Cancun, Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria, Punta Cana, and Varadero—available 52 weeks a year.

Europe more accessible than ever
This summer, Air Transat will operate up to four direct flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport per week. The airline will also offer a new connecting flight program that gives Eastern Québec clients access to a wider range of European destinations via connections from Québec City to Montréal. The new program—available from June 21 to October 27, 2015—lets travelers create their own city combinations so they can land in one European city and return to YQB from another.

Air Canada will also offer more summer flights to Europe via its Montréal and Toronto hubs, which means that with a single connection YQB clients can easily access any one of the airline's 21 European destinations: Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Geneva, Istanbul, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Nice, Paris, Rome, Venice, and Zurich.           

Expanded service to North American hubs         
On June 4, Delta Airlines will introduce higher capacity regional jets for transborder flights in the Québec City (YQB)/New York City (JFK) corridor. The Bombardier CRJ700 and CRJ900 airliners, with 65 and 76 seats respectively, will feature business class cabins and in-flight Internet access.

American Airlines (US Airways) will be back at YQB starting June 4 with daily flights to its Philadelphia hub. The carrier is affiliated with the oneworld airline alliance. 

Moreover, Porter and WestJet have announced an increase in the capacity and number of flights to their respective hubs in Toronto.
