MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - In just two short weeks, more than 50 students have registered for the Walmart Green Student Challenge. The retailer is inviting post-secondary students across Canada to showcase their best, most innovative green business ideas with the chance to present those ideas to five of Canada's top CEOs and win their share of $100,000 in cash and prizes including:
- $25,000 for the winning team and $25,000 for their school
- $15,000 for second place
- $10,000 for third place
- $8,000 for fourth place
- $7,000 for fifth place
- $500 in Walmart gift cards to each of the 20 semi-finalists
For a chance to win, students need to:
- Register a team at www.greenstudentchallenge.ca
- Upload an idea (as of October 15)
- Build a community of support and generate as much online buzz about their idea as possible by December 14, 2012
On December 21, 20 semi-finalists will be chosen to submit a full proposal for final judging. The top five submissions will be announced on February 2, 2013, with the respective teams pitching their ideas before five of Canada's top CEOs at the Green Student Challenge Finals in Toronto on February 26, 2013.
