Desjardins launches "Successful retirement," a retirement planning toolkit
LÉVIS, QC, May 1, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - According to the Desjardins Personal Finance Index, people who look forward to planning their retirement are few and far between. In Quebec, only 46% of the population actually engages in this type of planning. If you haven't taken the time to estimate your retirement income or establish a financial plan, Desjardins has a variety of educational and awareness tools to help you plan for that important step in your life.
Desjardins's new Successful retirement campaign is a series of initiatives to help individuals between 45 and 65 plan their retirement. The concept is different from the "finances only" approach, and covers other important aspects before and after retirement.
The Successful retirement campaign includes:
- 28 educational videos broadcast on TVA and LCN beginning April 1, 2013, also available on the Desjardins Group Co-opme site
- expert advice in different fields
- an interactive zone to help participants visualize and plan their retirement and take steps to reach their goals
- educational video and blog content on Desjardins's Co-opme site and the Desjardins Group Facebook page
- an invitation to join online discussion about financial and non-financial issues
- a contest with the chance to win retirement-savings investments.
"Financial education is second nature to us. But when it comes to planning for retirement, we know it's essential to go beyond the financial aspects and talk to our members and clients on a more personal level. We need to understand their goals and what makes them happy. Only then can we start the planning process," says Eric Lachaîne, Senior Vice- President of Desjardins Group Wealth Management.
