TORONTO, May 8, 2018 /CNW/ - Morneau Shepell Inc. (the "Company" or "Morneau Shepell") (TSX: MSI) held its annual meeting of shareholders in Toronto at its corporate headquarters today. Chair of the Board, Jill Denham, thanked Morneau Shepell's founder, W.F. (Frank) Morneau, who is retiring after 52 years with the Company.
"As CEO or director, Frank has presided over the remarkable growth of this Company. He became a respected and influential business leader in Canada. He is an active community leader, leading many charitable causes and changing the lives of those less fortunate in our great city," said Denham. "We all wish him continued good health, happiness and plenty of time to enjoy his family and his pursuits as he looks to the future."
In addressing the Board and shareholders, Morneau Shepell's president and CEO Stephen Liptrap, discussed the Company's accomplishments in 2017 and strategy for the future ahead.
"Today, we're more focused than ever on the U.S. market, innovation as a game changer and analyzing efficiencies to decide how we can best scale our company," said Liptrap. "Our Canadian business is expected to keep producing growth in the mid-single digits, and we expect to maintain double-digit growth in new technology products, the U.S. and emerging markets. We will also focus on acquisitions as an important part of our future growth. As we move forward, we do so with the confidence that Morneau Shepell is well positioned strategically, operationally and financially to deliver profitable growth for years to come."
