Expert information and interactive exercises help users and family members face the future with confidence
TORONTO, Sept. 18, 2012 /CNW/ - Morneau Shepell, under its Shepell•fgi brand, has launched the Online Separation and Divorce Program to help individuals and family members better manage the challenges of separation or divorce. Users can privately and conveniently access the program anytime, anywhere.
"In Canada, divorce or separation may seem common but if not handled properly, the impact can be severe and long-lasting," said Barb Veder, Clinical Director, Morneau Shepell.
"The separation and divorce process is fraught with emotion, challenges, details, and decisions. This new approach follows clinical and online best practices. It will help people better cope with the stress experienced during this difficult stage."
The program offers:
- expert articles and videos that explore the emotional, parenting, legal, and financial impacts of separation and divorce;
- a resource guide with comprehensive materials;
- interactive exercises to set goals, identify problems, create an action plan, and move ahead; and
- the ability to order books online, bookmark favourite materials, and more.
Veder says many people facing legal and emotional problems that accompany separation and divorce are reaching out for professional help. "Separation and divorce are the top issues being accessed via our Employee and Family Assistance Program, behind personal stress," she says.
The Online Separation and Divorce Program was developed by leading clinical, legal, and financial experts. It is best suited for those who are comfortable online and who prefer to work at their own speed.
"We're committed to helping more organizations support their employees and families via digital channels," says Rita Fridella, Senior Vice-President, Operations and Chief Clinician, Morneau Shepell. "Providing an additional means of support to resolve work, health, and life issues allows people to concentrate on what matters. This leads to higher retention, engagement, and productivity at work."
The Online Separation and Divorce Program is available to Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) clients, their employees, and families by calling the Care Access Centre. For more information, please visit shepellfgi.com.
