Morneau Shepell receives one gold, three silver and one finalist placement in various categories at 19th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference
TORONTO, Jan. 21, 2016 /CNW/ - Morneau Shepell was recognized with five awards at the 19th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference held in Orlando, Florida, in November. The 2015 eHealthcare Leadership Awards, presented by Health Care Communications, honoured Morneau Shepell in the following five categories: Best Site Design, Best Overall Internet, Best Annual or Special Report, Best Rich Design, and eHealth Organization Commitment.
Morneau Shepell took home gold for Best Site Design in the "other healthcare sites" category for its workhealthlife.com and childrensupportsolutions.com sites. The workhealthlife.com website provides access to Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) or Employee Assistance Program (EAP) support services and information to help resolve challenges with work, health or life. Its microsites focusing on better mental health (e.g., Digital Mental Health and Connecting Mental and Physical Health) were persuasive in helping Morneau Shepell earn the gold award.
Parents, caregivers, and educators have access to Morneau Shepell's therapy and education services via childrensupportsolutions.com, where the focus is on helping children reach their full potential. These sites also received silver-level recognition in the Best Overall Internet category.
"We are very pleased to be recognized as a leader in the eHealthcare environment and to have increased our awards from three in 2014 to five in 2015," said Barb Veder, Vice President, Clinical Services and Research Lead at Morneau Shepell, a leading North American EAP / EFAP service provider. "It's important for us to be there when our clients, their employees and their families need us. Our online solutions make it possible for us to provide always-accessible confidential support."
Morneau Shepell also took home silver awards for Best Annual or Special Report, and Best Rich Design, in recognition of its Team Fitness Works, Annual Insights Report and My EAP mobile application. Team Fitness Works offers organizations a complete fitness solution for their employees and workplace that encourages physical activity in order to improve overall health and productivity. The Annual Insights Report pulls data from various programs (short- and long-term disability, absence management, Health Risk Assessment, etc.) and consolidates it, enabling employers to understand and benchmark workplace health. My EAP provides confidential access to EFAP support via mobile devices worldwide. The app offers employees and their families a wide range of assistance, such as health and wellness information through articles and videos, as well as interactive tools including confidential counselling and service booking.
"Morneau Shepell is constantly exploring ways to provide online workforce solutions that help our clients support the total health of their employees," said Ms. Veder. "We are fully committed to developing leading-edge online products and services that have a positive impact on both individual health and organizational success."
The eHealthcare Leadership Awards received nearly 1,000 entries from a wide range of healthcare organizations within 15 different classifications, in which organizations competed against others of comparable size, type and resources. A panel of 113 experts familiar with healthcare and the Internet evaluated each entry. Websites and other digital communications were rated based on a standard of Internet excellence and how they compared with others in their group classification. Award winners are recognized in the December 2015 issue of eHealthcare Strategy & Trends magazine.
