Employee Assistance Society of North America recognizes groundbreaking program to help organizations manage gender diversity in the workplace
TORONTO, May 14, 2018 /CNW/ - Michel Arsenault, clinical director, Ontario/Atlantic Canada and digital clinical services, Morneau Shepell, has been awarded the 2018 Leadership Award of Excellence by the Employee Assistance Society of North America (EASNA). The association has acknowledged Arsenault for his vision and efforts to help organizations manage gender diversity in the workplace and support transgender individuals ready to make the transition at work in a sensitive and respectful manner.
Arsenault, who has been in the employee assistance program (EAP) industry for more than 23 years, has seen the demand for gender diversity intervention grow significantly over that period. He now supports hundreds of organizations globally.
"As a leader in EAP, Michel's initiatives have brought diversity awareness to the forefront, demonstrating the importance for organizations to incorporate diversity management policies in order to create an inclusive workforce," said Barb Veder, vice president global clinical services, clinical and research lead, Morneau Shepell. "Michel encourages organizations to adopt workplace support programs that address transgender issues and include detailed gender transition guidelines. Doing so ensures good communication amongst employees, managers and transitioning individuals and creates a stronger and more diverse workforce."
The Leadership Award of Excellence recognizes one industry leader annually who demonstrates ongoing commitment and support of EAP and workplace health. Arsenault's achievement was acknowledged by EASNA at its 30th Annual Institute on May 9-11, 2018 at the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront in Vancouver.
