MONTREAL, June 3, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - On Saturday, the Tournée de l'espoir - À moto pour Monique et Sophie Thibault brought together close to 100 participants and raised $ 100,000 for the Quebec Division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
Sophie Thibault, the event's spokesperson, warmly thanked the motorcyclists who took part in this challenge: "Being able to combine my love of motorbikes with the cause of multiple sclerosis is a real source of pride for me. This event has been an opportunity to pay tribute to my mother, Monique, who faced down this disease with courage and determination for more than 50 years. Riding alongside you warms my heart. Not only are you displaying your support for people with multiple sclerosis, you're also helping to improve their quality of life."
The Tournée de l'espoir followed a route more than 243 kilometres long in the heart of some of the most beautiful regions of Quebec: from Montreal to Sutton, ending up in Orford.
The MS Society would like to thank its generous partners, without whom the event could not have taken place: CIBC, Moto Internationale, Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada, Harley-Davidson Montreal, BMW Sainte-Julie and Quebecor.
Take up the challenge in the name of hope!
Multiple sclerosis is the most widespread neurological disease affecting young adults in Canada; close to 20,000 Quebecers have this disease, which affects three times as many women as men.
