Mount Dennis Branch Scheduled for Renovation
Toronto Public Library seeks input from community
TORONTO, Oct. 26 /CNW/ - Toronto Public Library is inviting members of the public to help shape a new vision for Mount Dennis Branch by sharing their opinions at a public consultation meeting on Wednesday, November 3, 2010. The renovation is scheduled to begin in 2012.
Toronto Public Library senior staff and architects from G. Bruce Stratton Architects will be on hand at the meeting to seek input from the public on the renovation plans for Mount Dennis Branch. Members of the public who are unable to attend the meeting can fill out a comment form, available at the branch or on the library website at www.torontopubliclibrary.ca.

Expected to be completed by 2013, the renovation will keep the building in a state of good repair. The renovation will address mechanical and structural requirements, meet health and safety and building code requirements. It will feature:
- A greener building with enhanced landscaping, a revitalized main entrance and a more prominent street presence
- A complete redesign of the interior spaces
- Improved programming and community meeting spaces
- A revitalized reading lounge
- A new teen zone
Service enhancements will include:
- A new KidsStop
- Upgraded computer access, including laptop lending
- Increased study space
- Express check in and check out
The upcoming renovation of Mount Dennis Branch is part of Toronto Public Library's ongoing building revitalization plan. In 2010, Torontonians benefited from the reopening of two branches after renovations: Thorncliffe (opened Feb 4) and Riverdale (September 28). Cedarbrae and Northern District are scheduled to reopen by the end of the year.
