Movie Central and The Movie Network Acquire Showtime's Big-Buzz New Drama MASTERS OF SEX

TORONTO, July 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Corus Entertainment's Movie Central (Western Canada) and Bell Media's The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) have picked up the exclusive Canadian broadcast rights to MASTERS OF SEX, a new drama series from Showtime chronicling the unusual lives, romance, and pop culture trajectory of William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The 12-episode, one-hour series premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 on Movie Central and The Movie Network.

MASTERS OF SEX is an adaptation of Thomas Maier's book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love. The series stars Emmy® and BAFTA Award nominee Michael Sheen (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) and acclaimed actress Lizzy Caplan (TRUE BLOOD, PARTY DOWN), who portray William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the real-life pioneers of the human sexuality research.
MASTERS OF SEX is produced by Sony Pictures Television and was created and executive produced by Michelle Ashford (THE PACIFIC). The series will also be executive produced by Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly and Judith Verno. Michael Sheen, Tammy Rosen and Thomas Maier will serve as producers.
