Legacy of Canada's Veterans remembered at commemorative event in Ottawa
OTTAWA, Nov. 6, 2014 /CNW/ - Royal Galipeau, Member of Parliament for Ottawa–Orléans, on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs, today joined members of the Royal Canadian Legion, the War Amps of Canada, Veterans, and local school children, to thank those who have served our country during the 19th Annual Veterans Appreciation Day.
During a ceremony of remembrance, MP Galipeau presented Veterans of the Second World War with limited- edition lapel pins and certificates in recognition of their remarkable contributions to ensuring Canada remains strong, proud and free. MP Galipeau also highlighted the importance of remembrance with those in attendance, including more than 300 young Canadians.
