MONTRÉAL, Jan. 30, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - The Chiefs of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador (AFNQL), gathered today in Montreal, re-elected Mr. Ghislain Picard to the position of Chief of the AFNQL.
"I am very proud to have the continued confidence of the Chiefs of our circle for a tenth term. I intend to represent them with dignity and to implement our collective priority of strengthening the relationship between our Nations and our communities. I am always open to achieving more and we must move forward for our future generations," said Mr. Picard.
The Chief of the AFNQL also highlighted the commitment of Mr. Gilbert Dominique, candidate for the leadership race. "I want to acknowledge Gilbert's commitment to this challenge. Our journey will continue together in unity, for the betterment of First Nations in Quebec-Labrador", added Mr. Ghislain Picard.
Political relationships are at the heart of the commitments presented by the Chief of the AFNQL. "We need to invest to strengthen relationships between us and I intend to implement a reflection that will enable us to solidify the collective we represent."
