MTS Allstream leader receives CWC Excellence in Leadership Award

TORONTO, Feb. 22 /CNW/ - MTS Allstream Inc. ("MTS Allstream"), one of Canada's leading national communications solutions providers, is proud to congratulate Lina Lawrence, MTS Allstream's Director of IT Business Services in Toronto, for being honoured with a Leadership Excellence Award from the Canadian Women in Communications ("CWC"). CWC is a national organization that raises the profile of women working in the communications field.

Ms. Lawrence joined MTS Allstream in 2007. She has a diploma in Business Administration from Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario. Lina speaks two languages, English and Portuguese, and is active in her community, having volunteered at the Heart and Stroke Foundation for the past 11 years. She has also volunteered for Operation Red Nose and the Police Advisory Council in Caledon, Ontario.
One Canada's Top 100 Employers and one of Manitoba's Top 25 Employers, this is the third consecutive year that an MTS Allstream leader has been recognized with an award from CWC. In 2008, Pat Solman, Vice-President Customer Care, received CWC's Mentor of the Year Award, and in 2009, Lesley McFarlane, Director of Network Services Business Planning and Operational Performance received the Excellence in Leadership Award in the Mentor category.
Lina Lawrence will receive the Leadership Excellence award at the CWC Annual Awards Gala on March 29, 2010 in Ottawa.
