WINNIPEG, May 31 /CNW/ - MTS Allstream is proud to announce that it has renewed its sponsorship of one of Canada's top professional golfers, Manitoban athlete Adam Speirs.
"MTS Allstream is pleased to continue to support Adam Speirs," said Pierre Blouin, CEO, MTS Allstream. "Everyone in Manitoba is very proud of Adam and MTS Allstream, Manitoba's hometown communications solutions provider, wishes him the best of luck as he competes in the sectional qualifying round for the 2010 U.S. Open."
Speirs recently advanced past the local qualifying stage for the 2010 U.S. Open, earning one of five spots to compete in the sectional qualifying round in June. Next month's 36-hole course in Portland, Oregon is all that stands between Speirs and entry into his third U.S. Open.
MTS Allstream first signed a sponsorship deal with Speirs in 2009. Since then, Speirs has continued to make Manitoba proud with his success on the course. MTS Allstream has been with Speirs every step of the way, supporting their local athlete, and providing him with the best wireless communications solutions available. Speirs will stay connected on the road when he takes his new BlackBerry(R) Tour(TM) smartphone on tour with him in 2010. He will also receive financial support from MTS Allstream to help him continue his training and participation in golf tournaments around the world. As part of his sponsorship agreement with MTS Allstream, Speirs will represent the company at various golf tournaments and events across Canada.
"I am very fortunate to have the continued support of MTS Allstream, which has allowed me to really focus on my training and on improving my game," said Speirs. "I take great pride in my accomplishments on the course, and I look forward to making my family, friends and fans very proud next month."
In 2008, Speirs ranked 13th overall on the Canadian Tour Order of Merit and won the Greater Vancouver Charity Classic. The two-time U.S. Open competitor was also a member of Team Canada, the team champions of the Canadian Tour's International Team Matches in 2007 and 2008.
