WINNIPEG, May 12 /CNW/ - MTS Allstream is proud to announce its participation as a Platinum Sponsor in the 2010 Mike Weir Miracle Golf Drive for Kids. The tournament will be held June 6-7, 2010, at the St. Charles Country Club in Winnipeg. Proceeds raised will help the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba support research and patient care at Children's Hospital.
"The Mike Weir Miracle Golf Drive for Kids is a great initiative founded by a world-class golfer who recognizes the importance of giving back to his community," said Pierre Blouin, Chief Executive Officer, MTS Allstream. The Golf Drive is a national fundraising initiative with a goal of raising $10 million for children's health care causes across the country. It is presented by The Mike Weir Foundation, benefitting the Children's Miracle Network, and in association with the National Golf Course Owners Association of Canada. This is the first time the event has been held in Manitoba. Past locations include London, Saskatoon and Halifax.

The tournament will begin on Sunday, June 6, at a sponsorship reception with Mike Weir, and will continue on Monday, June 7 at a kick-off breakfast with Mike Weir, followed by the tournament, a junior pro-am, a post-tournament lunch, and a golf clinic. The Mike Weir Miracle Golf Drive for Kids Gala Dinner will be held that evening, at the Fort Garry Hotel Spa and Conference Centre.
