MTS and TEAM-IFPTE ratify agreement
WINNIPEG, May 27, 2016 /CNW/ - (TSX:MBT) Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. and the Telecommunications Employees Association of Manitoba (TEAM-IFPTE Local 161) are happy to announce they have ratified a three-year collective agreement.
The agreement, which has an expiry date of Feb. 19, 2019, positions MTS to successfully move forward with ongoing business.
"We are thrilled that both negotiating teams were able to reach this agreement and that TEAM-IFPTE membership voted to support it," said Jay Forbes, president & CEO, MTS. "We enjoyed a very productive and positive negotiating process and are looking forward to strengthening our relationship as we continue serving our customers.
The two sides reached a tentative agreement on May 9 and TEAM's negotiating committee unanimously recommended acceptance. TEAM-IFPTE membership held its ratification vote yesterday.
The agreement includes wage increases of 1.5% in the first year and 2% in each of the following two years.
TEAM-IFPTE Local 161 represents 900 managers and professionals at MTS.
