MTS brings Cindy Klassen home to attend World's Largest Social

Canada's greatest Olympian comes home for Manitoba Homecoming 2010

WINNIPEG, May 13 /CNW/ - MTS is proud to announce that it will bring Canada's greatest Olympian, Cindy Klassen, home to Winnipeg, on Saturday, May 15, to celebrate Manitoba Homecoming 2010 at the record-breaking "World's Largest Social".

The "social", a long-celebrated Manitoba tradition, has brought friends and families together for decades. This weekend, thousands of Manitobans, including Klassen, will take part in a record-breaking, province-wide party, which will take place in 63 communities across the province simultaneously. Each community's social will be unique and will feature live music, silent auctions, and traditional social food.

As Manitoba's hometown telecommunications service provider, MTS is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the "World's Largest Social" and a Presenting Partner of Manitoba Homecoming 2010.

Cindy is currently training in Alberta, and will fly home to Winnipeg this weekend to attend the "World's Largest Social". The Winnipeg edition of the social will take place at the Winnipeg Convention Centre, and will feature appearances by several local celebrities. Klassen will be in attendance from 9:30 - 11:30 p.m., and will present MTS prizes to attendees.

All 63 socials are fundraising endeavours for local initiatives in their respective communities. Proceeds from the Winnipeg social will support the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, Children's Hospital Foundation and Cancer Care Manitoba.
