WINNIPEG, March 26 /CNW/ - MTS, Manitoba's hometown telecommunications provider, is continuing to support the Manitoba community as a Presenting Partner of Manitoba Homecoming 2010.
Manitoba Homecoming 2010 is a year-long celebration encouraging Manitobans to reconnect with and rediscover what Manitoba has to offer. Through a variety of events and programs - from a traditional Manitoba social to business development initiatives - the celebration is set to persuade Manitobans living outside the province to "come home" and see what they've been missing.
"Manitoba Homecoming 2010 is a great way to celebrate this province's great history and people," said Kelvin Shepherd, President MTS. "Manitoba is home for more than 3,000 of our employees, and as the province's premier communications company, MTS is proud to be a Presenting Partner of this initiative. We hope that all Manitobans will take part in the festivities, and that they will encourage friends and family living outside the province to come home and join them."
As a partner of the initiative, MTS is a presenting sponsor of Manitoba Homecoming 2010's "World's Largest Social", an event occurring simultaneously in more than 60 Manitoba communities on Saturday, May 15. In keeping with a truly unique Manitoban tradition, the World's Largest Social will be an opportunity for people across the province to celebrate together.
MTS is also helping Manitoba Homecoming 2010 encourage ex-pats to come home by providing 10,000 'Call Home On Us' long distance phone cards. Manitoba Homecoming 2010 has been distributing the cards to Manitobans living outside the province who can use the cards to call home and plan their visit.
"It's great to see MTS, our hometown telecommunications provider, show their Manitoban pride by supporting Manitoba Homecoming 2010," said Kevin Walters, Executive Director, Manitoba Homecoming 2010.
