WINNIPEG, April 16 /CNW/ - MTS, Manitoba's hometown telecommunications provider, is a presenting sponsor of Manitoba Homecoming 2010's "World's Largest Social" on Saturday, May 15. That evening, thousands of Manitobans are expected to set a world record when the traditional Manitoban celebration takes place simultaneously in over 60 communities across the province.

Each community's social will be unique, featuring live music, silent auctions, and traditional social food.

Dozens of Manitoba celebrities will also be home to take part in the festivities. MTS spokesperson Cindy Klassen, Canada's greatest Olympian, plans to join fellow Manitobans at the Winnipeg Convention Centre, the Winnipeg venue for the World's Largest Social.

"This is a chance to reconnect with family and friends, and an excellent fundraising opportunity for the participating communities," said Kevin Walters, Executive Director of Manitoba Homecoming 2010. "Each community that has agreed to host a Manitoba Homecoming social has chosen a local charity to receive the proceeds from their event."
