WINNIPEG, Nov. 2 /CNW/ - MTS is pleased to announce that it will soon launch the BlackBerry® Style™ 9670 smartphone, a stylish new handset that gives customers the powerful features of a BlackBerry® smartphone in the familiar comfort of a flip phone.
"MTS is very pleased to add the BlackBerry Style to our current selection of BlackBerry smartphones and to offer it on Manitoba's trusted network," said Stan Kurtas, Vice President, Marketing, MTS. "This new model is loaded with features to suit the needs of any customer, while continuing to offer the essential tools people have come to rely on in a BlackBerry smartphone."
The BlackBerry Style will be the first smartphone on the MTS wireless network to run the new BlackBerry® 6 operating system. BlackBerry 6 features an intuitive and fluid design with multiple views, an engaging multimedia experience, fast, rich web browsing, universal search, and feeds from social networks that make it even easier for people to stay connected and communicate with friends, family and colleagues.
Messaging with the BlackBerry Style smartphone over MTS's wireless network is made easy with a full QWERTY keyboard and real-time chats with BBM™ (BlackBerry® Messenger). The smartphone offers an optical trackpad for fluid navigation and features a five megapixel camera, as well as built-in GPS and Wi-Fi® which can be used at any of the 167 MTS Wi-Fi locations in Manitoba. A wide selection of apps will also be available on BlackBerry App World™.
"The flip form factor appeals to a very distinct but sizable set of consumers, and we're pleased to work with MTS to bring this unique new BlackBerry smartphone to their customers," said David J. Smith, vice president of Product Management, Research In Motion. "The new BlackBerry Style smartphone is a feature rich, premium BlackBerry smartphone that makes the perfect choice for MTS customers who love the flip form factor but want advanced smartphone features and a full QWERTY keyboard."
The BlackBerry Style 9670 smartphone will be available at MTS Connect stores in Manitoba later this year. Please visit a dealer nearest you or visit www.mts.ca/wireless for more information on devices and offers.
