MONTREAL, Oct. 15, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - During a highly emotional evening at the Grévin Montréal museum on October 9, National Bank donated $501,650 to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, a sum raised thanks to the 65,000 Allure MasterCard holders and National Bank Insurance. Some 50 cardholders attended the event. A video of the evening's highlights will soon be available on National Bank's YouTube channel: youtube.com/nationalbanknetworks.
Every year since the Allure MasterCard was first launched in 2005, National Bank has donated a portion of all purchases made with this credit card over a 12-month period to benefit the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. These donations, which currently total more than $3 million, help to fund research, promote education and raise awareness about breast health, as well as support breast cancer patients and their families.
"Fortunately, breast cancer survival rates are higher than ever and significant progress has been made, but research, education and breast cancer awareness must continue, and these all require proper financing," declared Yann Jodoin, Vice-President - Retail Products at National Bank.
In addition to supporting the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, with each transaction, cardholders receive a 10% discount when they purchase gift cards at www.yourallure.ca, which can then be redeemed with Allure partners. To learn more about the advantages of this card, visit nbc.ca/allurecard.
Every year, through its donations and sponsorships program and the initiatives of its employees, National Bank supports hundreds of organizations across Canada. It is particularly committed to supporting health, education, arts and culture, and community outreach, with the goal of generating positive benefits for communities.
