With the my debit card, clients can pay for purchases more quickly and simply
MONTREAL, June 20, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Today National Bank is announcing the launch of its new my debit contactless debit card, which allows clients to make purchases simply, quickly, and completely securely.
The new card, equipped with the Interac Flash feature, allows clients to make purchases of $100 or less at a merchant without having to enter their personal identification number (PIN). Payment is made immediately by holding the debit card in front of the sales terminal.
Clients who use a National Bank debit card will receive the new my debit card progressively over the coming months.
The launch of a new contactless debit card is the latest in a series of new products and services, including the recently unveiled new nbc.ca site, new ABMs, Apple Pay and Google Pay for credit cards, and a mobile app for businesses.
Highlights
- With the new contactless debit card, purchases of $100 or less can be made instantly at a merchant without having to enter a PIN, which simplifies the client's day-to-day transactions.
- Payments made using contactless technology are just as secure as other methods. The client's PIN will be requested during their initial transaction and then randomly after a certain number of contactless transactions. Clients also benefit from additional protection, offered by the Bank, in the event of fraudulent transactions.
- Clients can decrease their contactless payment limit at their convenience or even deactivate it by setting their limit to zero. Once deactivated, the feature can also be reactivated upon request.
- Clients who use a National Bank debit card will receive the my debit card progressively over the coming months. Their PIN and terms of use will remain the same.
- In the next few months, the Bank will continue to simplify and enhance its clients' experience by rolling out a brand new transaction site for Personal Banking clients, new online mortgage features and a mobile point-of-sale solution for businesses.
